Janet learned the basic principles of social media from her father, a trusted pharmacist and business owner. He developed authentic relationships with his clients, with a service ethic above and beyond his competition. From the beginning, after earning a BA at St. Mary’s in Business Management and an AA in Fashion Design and Marketing, Janet was given the assignments that required creative solutions. Throughout her career, she has piloted new programs designed to simplify complex issues and create innovative solutions. Janet followed in her dad’s footsteps, and now owns and operates her own business, ZOOM Cross-Media, bringing together the best in traditional and social media marketing.
Janet’s 15 years of professional sales and marketing experience includes a variety of industries; retail, non-profit, education, and gaming. Merchandising quickly became a love when she discovered how, as a retail manager, a well-merchandised store or department could generate sales. She went on to manage a $24 million dollar retail development program at Macys West that included launching highly visible vendor lines like Jones New York and Ralph Lauren. Janet then moved to advertising sales with Admail West, a large direct mail facility where she built a multi-million dollar business supporting direct mail and fulfillment. From national retailers to California State agencies, Janet has created a successful track record of both optimizing production costs by improving systems and procedures, and increasing response rates by better targeting and identifying the best delivery method.
Janet has taken and developed positions from scratch many times, so starting her own business was a natural. She saw the need for social media experts with experience in traditional marketing. With ZOOM Cross-Media Janet offers a unique combination of skill sets: a marketing professional with heavy production experience who understands how it all comes together, who can be highly involved in strategy, and who can plug in to a marketing department where needed; as a designer, copywriter, or production expert.
By keeping up with new and constantly evolving social platforms, Janet designs a unique fit for each client, helping them target their audience and speak more personally in their messaging. Janet firmly believes in the future of social marketing, and that the best marketing is social. Like in the days when you chatted with your neighbors about a great service or product. The platforms may be new, but the way people relate is not.
